Inquiry #1: The cross sections on sheet X-1 show the existing structural sections for the mainline and the stage 1 outside shoulder; however, for NB Sta 899+75 to 908+77.11 and SB 887+15.57 to 899+75 and 908+77.11 to 911+36.75 there are no existing structural sections shown. Please indicate the correct structural section types and depths.

Inquiry #2: Ref: Special Provisions - Spec. section 10-1.35 continuously reinforced concrete pavement page 119 submittals read - if epoxy coated steel is used in continuously reinforced concrete pavement submit a copy of the certification for each plant used.

Under measurement and payment page 124 paragraph 9 reads full compensation for epoxy coating of steel reinforcement is included in the contract price paid per cubic yard for continuously reinforced concrete pavement and no additional compensation will be allowed therefore ...please confirm if epoxy coating of the continuously reinforced concrete pavement is required or not

Inquiry #3: Both the JPCP and CRCP seal isolation joints indicate the "Liquid Joint Sealant for isolation joints must be silicone." then go on to say "Install preformed compression seals in isolation joints." Which material is intended to be used?

Inquiry #4: Item 53 "Expansion Joint, Type AN" has a quantity of 190LF. So does Item 61 "Joint Seal (MR 1-1/2"). Is item 61 the sealant portion for item 53? If so, Item 61 indicates a MR=1-1/2" whereas sheet C-7 indicates the joint seal to have a MR=2". What is CT intent?

Response #2:According to Section 5-1.04 of the amended Standard Specifications, the Special Provisions shall govern over the project plans. Item 61 is the sealant portion for Item 53.

Inquiry #5: SP Section 10-1.01 Order of Work states Night work is only allowed for K-Rail, Striping, and Grinding. Traffic charts only allow for lane/shoulder closures at night. Please clarify when CT expects the shoulder work to be complete.
