About Us
Welcome to the home page of the Office of Special Funded Projects and Structures Local Assistance, a unit of the Division of Engineering Services.
Special Funded Projects Liaison Engineers provide liaison and technical support to regional transportation agencies to ensure that transportation structures they construct on the state highways conform to Caltrans' policies, standards, and practices.
Structures Local Assistance Engineers provide liaison and technical support to local governments for structures they construct on their local road systems. This is done through the Local Agency Highway Bridge Program (HBP), the Local Agency Seismic Safety Retrofit Program (LSSRP), and other State and Federally funded structure projects.
