Inquiry #1: Traffic Chart K1 shows that the work can only be done at night and must provide 1 lane of traffic in each direction.
Traffic Chart M1 shows that work can be done during the day with 1 lane of traffic in each direction or at night with 1 lane for both directions (reverse control).

Please clarify what the working hours are for this project.

Response #2:Working hours for this project varies for different locations. It depends on restrictions placed on work hours at each location and also on lane closure charts.

Refer to Special Provisions SECTION 5 CONTROL OF WORK and SECTION 12 TEMPORARY TRAFFIC CONTROL.

Inquiry #2: The Project Specifies minor concrete for Driveways. What is the PSI needed to provide access on driveways after Concrete pour? Since minor concrete will not yeild the compressive strength required to put traffic on it within few hours of the pour. What will be the minimum Compressive strength/ or fexural strength needed to calculate opening age?

Response #2:Contractor must comply with the requirements of Section 5-1.20G (page 7) of the special provisions and specifically the 1st paragraph in Section 5-1.20G(1).

Inquiry #3: The Special provisions states that "The temporary construction easements and the permit to enter expire on December 31, 2018" and it also says "Complete the work within 350 working days". By the time the Clock starts there will not be enough time for the TCE permit to allow 350 working days. Will the Department provide extension to TCE permits to complete the project?

Response #2:Contractor must comply with the requirements of Section 5-1.20G (page 7) of the special provisions and specifically the 3rd paragraph in Section 5-1.20G(1), Section 5-1.20G(2) and Section 5-1.20G(3) of the special provisions. The 350 working days covers all work in this project and not just the work requiring temporary construction easement and permit to enter.
