Inquiry #1: Is there any type of temporary protection required while the existing crash cushions and quad guard systems are being removed and replaced??? such as k-rail and/or temporary sand filled crash cushions??? only Locations 7 & 8 show k-rail and temp crash cushions, what about the other locations?
Inquiry submitted 02/17/2014

Response #1:Work at locations other than locations 7 and 8 may be accomplished using nightly closures conforming to the traffic charts.

Response posted 02/19/2014

Inquiry #2: Your response to the first inquiry states that all work can be done with nightly closures. Are we required to install new concrete pads at all locations? Yes or No
Inquiry submitted 02/19/2014

Response #1:Yes.
Response posted 02/19/2014

Inquiry #3: Most of the Manufacturers of the crash cushions require 7 days minimum cure on concrete pads prior to installation of the crash cushion. How are these pads to be protected during that curing process? No Traffic Handling plans are shown other than for Location 7 & 8.
Inquiry submitted 02/19/2014

Response #1:Use the existing crash cushions to protect the pads if possible. You can also use rapid setting concrete for the pads, therefore not waiting 7 days for curing.
