Inquiry #8: Items 89, 90, 91, 92, 93 and 94 are for Permanent Tape with a Warranty Bond from the manufacturer. At this time we have contacted multiple suppliers and only 1 will warranty the product. This is creating a monopoly and the price for the material is now higher than if there were competition. These costs are being passed on to the State and are inflating the actual items beyond reasonable markups. As in inquiry #1 the state has authorized alternative materials be used but they have been denied for this project. At this time this bid should be delayed due to the sole source of the material supplier and alternative materials be authorized.
