State Route 191 Curve Realignment

DESCRIPTION

This project proposes to improve safety and includes the following:
* increased curve radii and improved vertical profile grade
* widen shoulders to 8 feet
* improve the Clear Recovery Zone by removing obstacles and flattening slopes near the traveled way

PROJECT BENEFITS

The necessity for this project is driven by the high number of collisions resulting in a higher than average accident rate for similar type facilities. The purpose of this project is to reduce the number and severity of collisions within this segment of highway by increasing curve radii, widening shoulders, improving the vertical profile, and improving the clear recovery area.
