State Route 99 Live Oak Rehabilitation Project

DESCRIPTION

The project is located in and near the City of Live Oak on State Route (SR) 99 in Sutter County from Post Mile 39.4 to 41.0. The project proposes to rehabilitate SR 99 to a 40-year pavement life. In addition, the project entails modifying the drainage systems. Complete Street enhancements will be integrated by providing bicycle and pedestrian facilities. Crosswalks, curbs, gutters, sidewalks and driveways will be upgraded. Curb ramps will be upgraded to current American with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. Traffic signals will be upgraded at Pennington Road and Elm Street.

PROJECT BENEFITS

The purpose of this project is to replace the existing pavement with a 40-year pavement life. This will minimize the overall long-term maintenance costs. The project will improve drainage and will bring the roadway to current ADA standards.

This section of the SR 99 has distressed pavement according to 2013 Pavement Condition Survey and based on field inspections. The pavement cross slopes and curb ramps are not ADA compliant. Drainage issues have been field identified within the project limits.

FUNDING BREAKDOWN

The project is funded from the SHOPP SB1 Program in fiscal year 2019-20. This project will be combined with 03-3F990 (Live Oak Streetscape Project) and 03-2H230 (Caltrans Safety Project) before advertised for construction.
