Traffic Safety Investigations


Our Mission:

The purpose of Traffic Safety Investigations is to reduce the collision rate and the severity of collisions by investigating locations on the State roadway system and recommending appropriate action that will enhance the roadways. Employees in the districts perform the investigations. There are approximately 150 positions for Traffic Safety Investigators spread throughout the State of California.  These investigators are located in every Caltrans district.
