** The Office of Outdoor Advertising is part of the Division of Traffic Operations.

The Department regulates the placement of outdoor advertising displays visible to California Highways which is essential to improve safety to motorists and highway aesthetics. Our primary performance measure is to reduce motorist distraction by citing and removing illegal displays which provides for a cleaner and more orderly driving environment. The Department performs annual reviews of freeways and highways identified on the National Highway System to enforce outdoor advertising requirements under the Highway Beautification Act.

Currently we are headquartered in Sacramento with regional and district offices throughout the State.
