Transportation Planning Grant Program

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), Division of Transportation Planning's Grant Program for FY 2013-14 is now closed. The Division awards approximately $9 million in funding through six grant programs annually. These programs provide monetary assistance for transportation planning projects to improve mobility and lead to the programming or implementation phase for a community or region.


Grant Programs

Caltrans offers six different transportation planning grant programs:

  • Community-Based Transportation Planning
  • Environmental Justice
  • Partnership Planning
  • Statewide or Urban Transit Planning Studies
  • Rural or Small Urban Transit Planning Studies
  • Transit Planning Student Internships
