Airport Grant Program Status

Fiscal Year 2014-15

Annual Credit Grants – The FY 2014-15 Annual Credit of $10,000 will be credited to each eligible airport in late Spring 2015.

All eligible airports who have 1) completed the annual certification process, and 2) the Division of Aeronautics has received their completed and signed CAAP Certification form (DOA-0007) are eligible to request their accrued Annual Credits, if applicable, through FY 2013-14 by completing the Annual Credit Disbursement Request form (DOA-0009).

Airport Improvement Program (AIP) Matching Grants – AIP Matching Grant funds are limited. Eligible applications are funded as funds become available, provided that the project was not started or completed prior to allocation of funds by the state.

Acquisition and Development (A&D) Grants – Select A&D projects programmed for FY 2014-15 will be funded contingent on the passing of the FY 2014-15 State Budget.

Local Airport Loan Program (LALP) – Visit the LALP web page for program status. Low interest rate funds are available now, which can spread project cost over many years.

State Aeronautics Account Revenue Notes:

  1. Revenue derived from General Aviation (GA) fuel excise taxes of $0.18/gallon on AVGAS and $0.02/gallon on GA jet fuel remains the only source of funding for the Division of Aeronautics. The AVGAS rate became effective in January 1994, and the GA jet fuel rate began in December 1969.

  2. All grants administered by the California Department of Transportation, Division of Aeronautics remain affected by an approximately 25 percent annual decrease from historic revenue transfers from the State Controller’s Office.
