CALTRANS KEEPS CLOSE EYE ON SLIDES AT LAST CHANCE GRADE
KLAMATH — In this Caltrans News Flash, Public Information Officer Eli Rohl talks about the key features of a new, advanced, and multi-faceted system being used to monitor landslide activity at Last Chance Grade - a section of U.S. Highway 101 in Del Norte County that is being pushed into the Pacific Ocean by slide activity. Caltrans is using the monitoring system to keep the public safe while an alternative highway alignment can be built around Last Chance Grade.
