Federal Office OverviewThis Office's primary responsibility is the administration of Federal Grant Programs that provide funding for operating assistance and capital improvement projects. The Office also provides technical assistance to agencies responsible for public transportation services. Our products help agencies purchase buses, rolling stock and ferries, support rural and urban transit systems, support commuter and urban rail services and waterborne ferry operations, and support demand-responsive services accessible to the elderly and disabled. ObjectiveFacilitate the delivery of these four federal mass transportation programs and their support functions: 1) Elderly Individuals and Individuals with Disabilities Program, FTA Section 5310 2) Non-urbanized Area Formula Program, FTA Section 5311 3) Job Access and Reverse Commute Program, FTA Section 5316 4) New Freedom Program, FTA Section 5317 * The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (temporary economic stimulus program) Support Functions:
