Urbanized Area Formula Grants (FTA 5307)

Effective June 30, 2006, the Division of Mass Transportation will no longer approve supplemental agreements for Section 5307 grant applications.
The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Urbanized Area Formula Program, Section 5307 provides funds for public transit in urbanized areas (UZA). FTA guidance states that the governor or the governor’s designee is the designated recipient for UZAs under 200,000 in population (except for designated Transportation Management Areas under 200,000 population). The Division of Mass Transportation (DMT) is the Governor’s designee for these areas, also known as small UZAs. Effective June 30, 2006, DMT delegated designated recipient responsibilities for small UZAs to the following transportation planning agencies:

Transportation planning agencies must approve supplemental agreements for Section 5307 grant applications submitted by transit operators in their planning area.
