District 8 Public Affairs Unit, Division of Administration

1. The District 8 Legislative Liaison is available to address constituents’ concerns and to offer comments on a multitude of legislative issues.  The service of the District 8 Legislative Liaison has been beneficial to my organization.


2. Task forces comprised of multiple community partners are formed to work on major projects from groundbreaking to completion.  They are designed to address transportation issues that will affect the community during construction.  The level of participation by Caltrans Public Information Officers and Construction Liaisons meets my organization’s needs.

3. Public Information Officers work closely with our project partners to plan events that are jointly hosted.  Caltrans’ Public Information Officers in District 8 contribute effectively to plan events that are jointly hosted.

4. Caltrans’ Public Information Officers are helpful when I contact District 8 with local concerns.


 

District 8 Division of Design

5. The customer service performed by the Cooperative Agreements unit meets my organization’s expectations.

District 8 Division of Environmental Planning

16. The consistency in Environmental reviews and the feedback from Environmental Division staff meets my organization’s expectations.

District 8 Division of Traffic Operations

22. Permits are generally processed and issued in a timely manner.

23. The Permits staff is helpful in answering questions and providing guidance.

24. The State controlled traffic signals within our jurisdiction generally operate well and complement the local traffic signal system.

25. The ramp meters in my jurisdiction operate properly, and are not a burden to local traffic circulation.

 


 

District 8 Division of Construction

26. My organization is invited to participate in Caltrans' decision-making process during construction of projects.

27. Caltrans is receptive and responsive to my organization’s concerns regarding project impacts.

District 8 Land Surveying/Right of Way Engineering Units

31. Inquiries relating to technical Land Surveying/Right of Way Engineering related issues are responded to in a timely manner.

32. The Land Surveying/Right of Way Engineering functional units respond and/or attend all invited meetings called by my organization.

33. There is follow up communication from Right of Way Engineering/Land Surveys to ensure that responses have adequately addressed my organization’s inquiry.

34. Right of Way Engineering/Land Surveys unit works with my organization to provide options to address processes and/or issues that arise during the development of a project.

 


 

District 8 Division of Right of Way

35. Caltrans Right of Way Utilities Coordinator handling oversight projects has the knowledge and experience in answering the local agencies’ questions and providing guidance on State standards and policies.

36. The turn around response time from the Caltrans Right of Way Utilities Coordinator when a problem arises has been a benefit to the local agencies.

37. The Caltrans Right of Way Utility Coordinators are professional and courteous and easy to work with.

38. The District Right of Way Railroad Liaison works closely with my organization and consultants in an oversight role to assist them with the process of meeting the railroad’s standards and requirements throughout the life of the project. 

39. The Railroad Liaison for Right of Way is receptive and responsive to City/County questions and concerns regarding Railroad Impacts to the project.

40. The State’s Right of Way Railroad Liaison is knowledgeable of the railroad’s requirements for preparing railroad agreements and processes. They share that information with my organization whenever needed to complete our projects.

41. The District 8 Right of Way office is available to address concerns and to offer comments on a multitude of R/W policies, procedures and statutes governing acquisition activities on state highway projects. The service of the District 8 Right of Way Local programs office has been beneficial to my organization.

42. The Right of Way Local Programs agents are helpful when I contact District 8 with local concerns involving the appraisal, acquisition, and relocation assistance activities occurring on local agency projects.

43. The Right of Way Local Programs agents provide adequate input at Project Delivery Team (PDT) meetings to assist my organization in the delivery of projects.


 

District 8 Local Development/Inter-Governmental Review, Division of Planning

44. Documents submitted to the Inter-Governmental Review (IGR) Office are reviewed and responded to within the timeframe requested.

45. IGR Review staff is sufficiently knowledgeable with regard to California Environmental Quality Act/National Environmental Policy Act (CEQA/NEPA) requirements as they apply to my local development processing obligations.

46. I feel that IGR staff is responsive to my requests for information and assistance.

47. My requests for information or assistance are processed adequately and within a timely period.

48. IGR Office comment letters are written in clear, concise, and complete language, thus helpful in processing local land use applications.
