Goshen Pedestrian Overcrossing to Benefit Local Community
and Goshen Elementary School

class="content"> TULARE COUNTY-The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) invites the public to attend a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Thursday, October 6, 2005 at 9:30 a.m. to announce the opening of Goshen Pedestrian Overcrossing.

The Goshen Pedestrian Overcrossing, which spans across State Route 99, began construction in July 2004 and was completed in September 2005 at a cost of $3.1 million. Caltrans partnered with Tulare County, Visalia Unified School District, the California State Legislature and the Federal Highway Administration.

This project greatly improves safety and pedestrian mobility for the local community, especially Goshen Elementary School, which is located on the west side of State Route 99. The majority of students that attend Goshen Elementary reside on the East side of the freeway. This pedestrian overcrossing creates a safe route to school for these students.
