Volunteers to plant 100 Trees on Highway 99
Kern - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), Mayor Harvey L. Hall, and Keep Bakersfield Beautiful will take part in a tree planting as part of the “kick off” of the Bakersfield Freeway Master Plan. This freeway beautification project is funded by a $2,500 grant awarded by Caltrans to the community of Bakersfield as well as by local businesses: Hopson-Anspauch Family Mortuary, Reimer’s Wholesale Nursery and White Forest Nursery. The press conference will be held on Friday, April 29, 2005 at 10:00 am at the Stockdale Park and Ride (Stockdale Highway and Real Road next to Kaiser Permanente). The planting will take place on Saturday, April 30, 2005 from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm on Highway 99 between Planz Road and Wilson Road. Approximately 20 volunteers will take part in the tree planting. Tree planting location can be accessed from Larson Street between Planz Road and Wilson Road. ###
