Spring Clean-Up and Litter Enforcement Day
Fresno-District 6: The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) in partnership with the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the City of Fresno and numerous Adopt-A-Highway volunteer groups recently held a Spring Anti-Litter Clean-up Event.
This Statewide Anti-Litter Enforcement effort focused on reducing the amount of litter on our highways. Caltrans, CHP and the City of Fresno continue their partnership efforts to educate the public that litter continues to be an ongoing problem.
State Route 63 - Mooney Boulevard 6-Lane Project

This project will improve traffic operations by increasing the capacity on this segment of State Route 63 through the City of Visalia. Construction of this project will reduce traffic congestion on local streets, improving traffic flow, which will reduce travel times and increase safety for motorists.
State Route 99 - Kingsburg to Selma Widening Project
Information regarding the upcoming traffic diversion phases on State Route 99 within the City of Selma.
State Route 99 is the main artery through the Central Valley and is essential to the economic development of the San Joaquin Valley as well as the State of California. This project will greatly increase the capacity and traffic flow of the existing facility, dramatically reduce traffic congestion and provide an improved primary north-south route. Motorists will also benefit from improved safety on this segment of State Route 99.
State Route 41 - Sunflower II Project

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will continue with full closures and partial closures (single-lane only) on State Route 41 in Kings, Kern and San Luis Obispo Counties. Construction on this project is expected to complete in Fall of 2008.
This 10 mile project will overlay, add shoulders and improve the sight distance throughout the project. In Kern County this project will overlay 5 miles of road and add standard shoulders. In Kings County the project will raise the grade five feet above the current alignment, out of flood risk and add standard shoulders. In San Luis Obispo County, this project will provide substantial earthwork benefit for a project which will be starting construction in July 2007.
