Inquiry 1.) There is no indication that difficult pile installation will be encountered due to caving soils. This is standard for this section to have a table stating what difficulties there will be installing piles. Also there should be a drill log. Without either of these we should be able to assume the drilling and CIDH pile installation should have no difficulties.

Response 1.) Pile location to be constructed on existing engineered fill. No drill log is available.

Inquiry 2.) Are there logs of test bores or geo findings that may show the sub grade soil conditions (water table, rock, etc)?

Response 2.) Pile location to be constructed on existing engineered fill. No drill log is available.

Inquiry 3.) At that spot, I did see the top of a marking stake. I also noted that the new grade is 1' lower than existing; on the edge of a southwest 45 degree slope. I just want to confirm that is the correct location, and not 6' east. Dumb question, but had to ask.

Response 3.) Yes, that is the correct location.

Inquiry 4.) The plans don't specify if the RSP for CIDH reinforcmetnt is pre or post July 15, 2015. Which is it?

Response 4.) Contract plans are supplemented by Standard Plans dated 2015.

Inquiry 5.) See Sign Detail S-1. Requesting Soils report for this contract. Asap

Response 5.) No soils report for this contract.

Inquiry 6.)What is Engineered Fill and should it be drillable with conventional drill rigs?

Response 6.) Engineered fill is material placed during backfill or grading operations. It is anticipated that it will be drillable with conventional drill rigs. 20Apr17.
