Q1) Can pre-manufactured structural steel components be substituted for the structural steel components indicated if they meet the structural criteria and the load criteria. Benefit to State would be a cost savings over the labor required to install the structural steel as indicated (Field welding, welding inspection, etc..).

Q2)ST1-0, A (steel deck notes) indicates puddle welds to attach the metal deck, all other details on ST1-9 and ST1-12 indicate screws. Which is it? Also if you use puddle welds you will not have a water tight roof.

Q3) There are no details or special provisions indicating the LPG system make up. What does the system comprise of, (tank, vaporizer, sizes, etc..)?
A3) LPG system shown on plan sheet 9 is a LPG dispensing system. Addendum No. 1 dated May6, 2011 has been issued showing the specification required for the dispensing system. As shown on plan sheet 9 the LPG system shall be connect to the existing tank and no new tank will be required. 10May11
Q4) Will Caltrans accept a precast concrete wall manufactured at our plant and delivered to the jobsite or does the wall have to be cast-site, in-place?

Q5) There are no log of test borings or soils analysis provided by Caltrans to determine the suitability of excavation materials for compaction requirements. How do we determine if excavated materials are suitable? How do we determine if barrow materials will be required and approximately how much will be required?
