Q1) Road is currently closed for the season. How can we do a site visit?
A1) Due to the winter conditions, no site visit is available. 4Jan11.
Q2) The cold foam contractors are concerned that they cannot visit the site due to road closure. The project gets widened into native material, and the existing structural section handout with the contract documents does not clarify the material outside of the existing structural section Suggest postpone bid opening to facilitate site visit after road opens.
A2) Bid opening will not be extended or rescheduled. 7Jan11.
Q3) Can the bid date for this project be postponed because route 270 is currently closed for winter and bidding contractors cannot access or see the project due to the snow?
A3) The bid date cannot be delayed enough to make a site visit feasible. Document your inability to visit the jobsite, and any assumptions made due to that inability, in your bid documents, and rely on the bid package and any other available information for your bidding purposes. 10Jan11.
