Q1) Section 10-1.12, paragraph 4, Cold Plane Asphalt Concrete Pavement, states no more than 24 hours shall elapse between the time pavement is cold planed and the HMA is placed. Based on the existing AC thickness shown, after cold planing .25 the existing base will be exposed. Is the intent to open the ramp after cold planing is complete and have traffic run on the exposed base or leave the ramp closed until paving is completed the following night?
