The responses to bidder's inquiries, unless incorporated into a formal addendem to the contract, are not a part of the contract and are provided for the bidder's convenience only. In some instances, the question and answer may represent a summary of the matters discussed rather than a word-for-word recitation. The availability or use of information provided in the responses to bidder's inquiries is not to be construed in any way as a waiver of the provisions of Section 2-1.03 of the Standard Specifications or any other provision of the contract, the plans, Standard Specifications or Special Provisions, nor to excuse the contractor from full compliance with those contract requirements. Bidders are cautioned that subsequent responses or contract addenda may affect or vary a response previously given.

Q) What makes this Type G Marker special? There does not seem to be a reference to it in the specifications or in the plans.
A) Please reference Standard Plan A20A and Standard Plan A20D.
Q) Sheet 11 of 19 shows a project length of approximately 765 meters. Given this length, there should be approximately 765 meters of temporary detail 22. Sheet 14 of 19, under "Temporary Traffic Stripe and Pavement Markers", quantities given are 1,530 meters for temporary detail 22. In the Special Provisions, below "Temporary Traffic Stripe (Paint)", "Measurement and Payment" refers to the July 1999 Standard Specifications Section 84-3.06 "Measurement" which states "A double traffic stripe...will be measured as one traffic stripe." Someone doubled the detail length shown on sheet 11 of 19 which makes the pay quantities incorrect. Should contractor pricing reflect actual quantities as shown on sheet 11 of 19 or given quantities on sheet 14 of 19?
A) In the absence of an Addendum "Bid it as you see it".
