The availability or use of information provided in the responses to bidder's inquiries is not to be construed in any way as a waiver of the provisions of Section 2-1.03 of the Standard Specifications or any other provision of the contract, the plans, Standard Specifications or Special Provisions, nor to excuse the contractor from full compliance with those contract requirements. Bidders are cautioned that subsequent responses or contract addenda may affect or vary a response previously given.

Inquiry 1.) On plan page C-1 there is a construction detail for paving methods, however there is no bid item for paving. Is directional boring an acceptable method for pipe installation on all the street crossing for this project.

Response 1.) Per Standard Specification Section 86-8, payment for flashing beacon standard is included in the payment for the system work involved. The detail C-1 is shown as a requirement specified by San Joaquin County encroachment permit for trench backfill. The method of conduit installation is the contractor's option. 4Apr2016

Inquiry 2.) Instead of T.I.P with a 20' T-overlay, is there an objection to directional voring the conduit?

Response 2.) The use of directional boring or trenching method is contractor's choice.4Apr2016

 

Inquiry 3.) Unless removed by trenching & cold planing, there is no need for Temporary Pavement Tape. Correct?

Response 3.) As long as the existing pavement marking/delineation is not removed by contractor's work activities, there is no need for Temporary Pavement Tape.4Apr2016

 

Inquiry 4.) As the deepest cidh is only 6'6", could we forgo the Pile Placement meeting? If not, would it be acceptable to have it at the office of the R. E. at the same time as the pre-con?

Response 4.) This can be discussed with the Engineer after approval of the contract.4Apr2016

 

Inquiry 5.) Are logs of Test Bores or information on the water table available?
