****REVISED SCHEDULE****

UPPER DECK RESTRIPED-LANE CLOSED
Richmond-San Rafael Bridge

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will re-stripe the upper deck (westbound) of the Richmond San Rafael Bridge. This work will occur nightly as follows:

The location of the lane closure will vary during the operation but will result in only one lane open to traffic on the upper deck (westbound) during the closure times. FAST TRAK will not be available to motorists during the hours of the closure.

On Tuesday, July 3, 2001 the shoulder on the lower deck (eastbound) will be closed from 9AM to 2PM.

This traffic shift is to facilitate the closing of Lane #1 on the upper deck. More night work is scheduled to complete the changes which will shift traffic to the #2 Lane and the shoulder to maintain 2 lanes of traffic. This operation is expected to take 4-5 weeks and Lane #1 will remain closed for an undetermined period of time. The closure is necessary for a variety of operations during the Seismic Retrofit Project.

Motorists are advised to expect delays. For more information, please contact the Public Information Officer at (510) 787-4084 or (510) 231-7853.

ALL WORK IS WEATHER PERMITTING AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE.
