Caltrans Announces FasTrak Advances
The FasTrak electronic toll collection system will begin dedicated operation at the Dumbarton Bridge just before the morning commute on Thursday, February 22, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has announced.
Also, effective immediately, FasTrak will be available at all Dumbarton Bridge booths. "FasTrak will become fully operational on the Dumbarton Bridge providing convenience and time-savings for commuters," said Caltrans Director Jeff Morales. "As each toll booth at our bridges becomes equipped, more Bay Area travelers can enjoy the advantage of the automatic collection system."
In addition, beginning during the week of March 12, depending on FasTrak account levels, the automated lane at the San Mateo Bridge will become dedicated. Caltrans encourages San Mateo and all Bay Area bridge users to sign up for the service now to enjoy the benefits coming in March. Also, lanes 19 and 29 (far right) at the Bay Bridge will begin FasTrak operation on Wednesday, February 28.
