NEW INTERCHANGE CONSTRUCTION
TEMPORARILY
CLOSES RAMPS IN AND AROUND CROCKETT
On Friday, January 19, 2001
the eastbound Crockett/Port Costa off-ramp heading into Crockett from I-80, will
be permanently closed for construction of the new Crockett interchange. A new
eastbound off-ramp will be constructed as part of the Crockett Interchange
project and will be complete in early 2003.
Motorists can access Crockett from eastbound I-80 by using the Cummings Skyway
exit, turning left onto Cummings Skyway and then taking a right on to San Pablo
Avenue.
On Tuesday, January 23, 2001 the
on and off-ramps at Cummings Skyway for westbound I-80 (towards Oakland) will be
temporarily closed to widen I-80. After the widening is complete the westbound
Cummings Skyway ramps will be reopened. This work will take approximately nine
months to finish. The eastbound ramps (toward Vallejo) at Cummings Skyway will
remain open.
During this closure westbound traffic heading out of Crockett will not be
affected, as the westbound on-ramp to I-80 from Crockett will remain open.
Motorists can use the Willow Avenue ramp in Rodeo as an alternate for using the
westbound Cummings Skyway ramp to access I-80. Detour signs will be posted.
If you have any questions about ramp
closures or the Carquinez Bridge Project in general, please call the Public
Information Officer at (510) 787-4084 or the Public Information Coordinator at
(510) 787-4080.
