*Updated Traffic Advisory*
TRAFFIC CONTROLS ON HWY. 92 IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT DUE TO WATER MAIN BREAK; MOTORISTS SHOULD EXPECT DELAYS
Highway 92 two miles west of the Hwy. 35 junction near in San Mateo County will be under one-way traffic controls until midnight due to a water main break that occurred during overnight construction work, Caltrans officials have announced.
Motorists traveling to or from Half Moon Bay are advised to use Highways 1, 35 (Skyline Blvd.) and 84 as alternate routes. The biggest delay for motorists this afternoon is expected to be in the westbound commute direction on Hwy. 92 between I-280 and Hwy. 1.
Private crews have been called into repair the 18-inch high pressure water main that broke when another contractor, drilling to check soil conditions struck the unmarked water line at around 3 am this morning. The drilling contractor is Cleinfelder Co., working under a Caltrans permit for the City of Half Moon Bay project to widen Hwy. 92.
Electronic message signs have been activated along I-280, Hwy. 101 and Hwy. 92 to advise motorists of the traffic controls on Hwy. 92.
