Lagunitas Creek Bridge Project
LAGUNITAS CREEK BRIDGE PROJECT UPDATE AND INFORMATIONAL MEETINGYou’re invited to Attend: Caltrans invites interested members of the public to an informational meeting regarding the proposed Lagunitas Creek Bridge Project. Caltrans will be conducting an environmental review as required under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and other state and federal requirements. The primary purpose of this meeting is to provide updated information about the current bridge, planning efforts to date, and considerations in forming the range of possible alternatives to be evaluated.
The meeting will include a short presentation at 7 p.m. followed by an opportunity to provide comments. Interested persons are encouraged to arrive prior to the presentation to view the project displays.

In response to comments received, Caltrans has prepared the following documents to address concerns expressed during our Scoping meeting for the proposed Lagunitas Creek Bridge Project. (To download documents, click on the PDF () icons below.
Lagunitas Creek Bridge: Scoping Summary Report. A report summarizes comments received during the Scoping Comment Period.
Lagunitas Creek Bridge: Issues Associated with a Retrofit Alternative on the Lagunitas Creek Crossing on Highway 1 in Marin County. A guide directed at laypeople to help understand technical issues associated with a retrofit alternative on an old steel-truss bridge. (Please note: Caltrans is preparing a technical design study for a retrofit alternative, which is expected to be ready by 2016).
A compendium of Lagunitas Creek Bridge inspection records.
Lagunitas Creek Bridge: Traffic Evaluation Report. A report that evaluates the potential traffic impacts that may be associated with the construction of the proposed Lagunitas Creek Bridge Project.
Lagunitas Creek Bridge: Sea Level Rise Impact Study for State Route 1 Bridge Over Lagunitas Creek Replacement Project in Marin County. A study that evaluates sea level rise projections at the proposed Lagunitas Creek Bridge Project site.

UPDATE: The Scoping Comment Period has been extended to June 20, 2015. Please submit your comments before this revised deadline.
Caltrans is seeking input to help direct our environmental studies for this project. Please provide comments on:
- The significant impacts or concerns that should be studied;
- Foreseeable problems that may be caused by the alternatives;
- Suggestions for improvements on the alternatives; and
- Suggestions for new viable alternatives

What’s being planned?
California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes a project to ensure that the Lagunitas Creek Bridge on Highway 1 in Point Reyes Station meets current seismic standards for safety. This project would entail replacing the current bridge with one of the four feasible types of bridge that meet current Caltrans standards for seismic safety.
Where you come in?
This notice is to tell you of the beginning of the Scoping Period under the California Environmental Quality Act. This is an opportunity for the public to help set the scope of the proposed project’s Environmental Impact Report (EIR).
You are invited to provide comments, particularly on the range of alternatives, resources, and impacts that should be considered, strategies to minimize these impacts, and related issues.
