Project Overview

The Route 92/Interstate 880 (I-880) Interchange Reconstruction Project is the reconstruction of the four (4) quadrant cloverleaf interchange by modifying the interchange to include multi-lane direct connectors from:

• Route 92 eastbound to I-880 northbound
• Route 92 westbound to I-880 southbound

The other two loop connectors: the northbound I-880 to westbound Route 92 movement and the southbound I-880 to eastbound Route 92 movement will not be modified.

The project boundaries are on I-880 just north of the Tennyson Road Overcrossing to just south of the Winton Ave Overcrossing and on Route 92 west of the Mount Eden Overhead to just east of Santa Clara Street.

Construction Schedule and Phasing

Construction for the Route 92/I-880 Interchange Project began October of 2007. The duration of the project construction is projected to last 48 months.
