Traffic

OFFICE OF TRAFFIC is primarily involved in traffic safety issues. It designs and reviews the design of signing and striping components for Bay Area freeways, maintains sign logs and photo logs, maintains accident records, provides services for Legal and Claims, conducts speed zone studies and administers the District’s Traffic Safety Program. The Office also investigates complaints about traffic safety and operational problems at specific locations in the District, conducts studies of the situation and initiates corrective action where needed. In addition, the Office also administers the Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT).
