General Description:

The project will reconstruct the Route 262 (Mission Boulevard)/I-880 interchange, construct a new Warren Avenue/I-880 Interchange, reconstruct the Kato Road Overcrossing, and widen I-880 from Fremont Boulevard in Fremont to Dixon Landing Road in Milpitas. The project will also re-stripe I-880 from Fremont Boulevard in Fremont to the Route 237/I-880 Interchange to complete the I-880 HOV Lanes per the MTC HOV Master Plan.

There are two additional phases that will be constructed separately. One will reconstruct the UPRR underpass structures, complete the widening of Route 262, and complete construction of the Kato Road on- and off-ramps to Route 262. This may be combined with the City of Fremont project to construct a railroad grade separation at Warren Avenue. A final construction phase is a separate landscape project.
