SCL 85 AC RESURFACING PROJECT

Latest Update/Traffic Advisory 7/11/11 - State Route 85 Resurfacing Project Begins

Project Objective:

This project is on Route 85 (NB only) in Santa Clara County in San Jose from Route 85/101 Separation to Guadalupe River Bridge. The major scope of work consists of resurfacing the existing pavement.

Need and Purpose:
Resurfacing work will preserve the existing pavement and extend the pavement service life.

Project Status:
The Design of this project was completed in October 2010. The project is funded by Highway Maintenance (HM) Pavement Preservation Program and it was awarded in April 2011 and approved in May 2011.

Project Costs:
The Engineer’s estimate for construction costs is: $ 2,629,462.00

Project Schedule:
The project is expected to start by end of June 2011 and is scheduled to be completed by October 2011.

Summary:
Upon completion, this project will improve the ride quality for the motorist on this segment of Route 85 in San Jose, Santa Clara County.
