Solano County Interstate 80 Rehabilitation Projects
In 2009, Caltrans, together with its partners, completed more than $100 million in improvements to Interstate 80 (I-80) in Solano County. These improvements include approximately 27 miles of new paving and the new High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes in Fairfield.
Caltrans is continuing the improvements on I-80 in 2010. More than 10 miles of new paving will be completed in both Fairfield and Dixon to provide you with a smooth ride as you travel along I-80. Caltrans will also install ramp meters along Interstate 80 in Fairfield to help reduce congestion.

I-80 Road Resurfacing and Approach Slab Replacement near Dixon and Davis
In early August 2010, Caltrans will begin a $13 million paving project that will include the resurfacing of I-80 from just west of the Pedrick Road Overcrossing outside of Dixon up to the Yolo County line near Davis. This project will also repave the ramps connecting Interstate 80 to State Route 113 up to the Yolo County line. The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2010, weather permitting.
In order to complete this work, nighttime lane and ramp closures will be necessary. Motorists can expect the majority of the work to take place between 7:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. seven days per week. Signs notifying motorists of closures and detours will be posted to guide traffic during construction. Residents may experience some noise at night from the construction equipment.
I-80 Final HOV Paving project in Fairfield, funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009
This project is out of winter suspension and will complete the final layer of asphalt and striping for Interstate 80 in Fairfield from west of the I-680/SR-12 Interchange to east of the Air Base Parkway Overcrossing. This project is scheduled to be completed by the end of September 2010.
In mid-August, Lane closures will resume Sunday night through Saturday morning. Work on the westbound lanes will necessitate closures from 7:00 p.m. to 5 a.m. and work on the eastbound lanes will require lane closures from 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. On, off, and connector ramps will also be subject to lane closures. Signs will be posted to notify motorists of upcoming closures and detours.
