580 Resurfacing Project

This Project Has Been Completed

Alameda County – In February and March 2015, Caltrans hosted two open house meetings to inform the public of the Interstate 580 Resurfacing project in Oakland in Alameda County. The project will begin construction in May 2015 on Interstate 580, from west of Interstate 80 to just east of Boston Avenue in Oakland, a distance of approximately 6 miles. Construction is expected to be completed by September 2015.

The project scope consists of resurfacing the freeway and the on and off ramps, modifying the drainage systems, installing guardrails, curbs and dikes, replacing overhead sign panels and loop detectors, and upgrading curb ramps to comply with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards
