This Project Has Been Completed
SONOMA COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation, Caltrans, will start construction of an emergency improvement project along the northwest bank of the Russian River Bridge on State Route 128 (SR-128) in the community of Geyserville. Caltrans has been working with state and federal resource agencies to implement bank stabilization and riparian habitat improvements upstream that will help prevent further erosion and protect the west approach of the Russian River Bridge on SR-128. Preparation activities for construction and the contractor’s mobilization will begin September 22, 2010.Construction Photos

Major construction will be completed by mid-October. Crews will work daily, including weekends, to expedite completion. While lane closures are not planned, motorists should expect traffic control flaggers for construction equipment accessing the highway and allow extra time for travel as construction activities could cause minor delays. Caltrans appreciates the community's cooperation and patience in this effort to complete the urgent improvement.
