The project will rehabilitate stormwater drainage and treatment systems, realign the road, and widen shoulders to allow bicycles and places for cars to pull out of traffic. The project will improve traffic safety, workers will also lengthen existing left-turn pockets and continuous left turn lanes, and construct new left turn lanes at Gray Avenue, Moana Circle, McKinney Rubicon Springs Road, Ward Avenue, Sunnyside Lane, Olympic Drive (north), Granlibakken Road, and the entrance to the Tahoe City Transit Center.

Project Benefits
The project will improve driver visibility, traffic safety, install runoff collection and treatment, add curb and gutters, and move the existing bike trail. Caltrans plans to preserve as many trees as possible while also achieving the necessary environmental and safety improvements. Caltrans will also plant vegetation to prevent erosion.
