HOLIDAY TRAVEL FORECAST - WET WEATHER AND SNOW EXPECTED

Caltrans District 2 has partnered with the National Weather Service offices in Sacramento, CA and Medford, OR to bring you the most accurate holiday travel forecast we can. The latest forecast shows dry weather and mild temperatures through Thanksgiving Day. Wet weather is expected late Friday through the weekend and into early next week. Heaviest rain/snow is expected early next week. Look for lowering snow levels ( apx.6,000 feet) for the weekend which may impact an already busy travel weekend. Breezy southerly winds are expected Monday and Tuesday. Gusts could reach 20-30 mph in the Valley, 50-60 mph over higher mountain areas. Please carry chains and take the proper precautions before leaving home in case you encounter severe weather. Please click on our QuickMap, Chain Control, One Stop Shop or NWS icons here on this page for the most current information regarding your route.
