Work Begins on I-805 Murray Ridge Road Overcrossing
SAN DIEGO –– Crews will close two lanes on northbound Interstate 805 (I-805) and up to three lanes on southbound I-805 between Interstate 8 and Murray Ridge Road Thursday from 7 p.m.-5 a.m. to restripe the freeway lanes and place temporary concrete barriers.
Motorists are advised to use caution as they get accustomed to the changes and allow extra time to reach their destinations.
The work is part of a project to seismically retrofit four area bridges. In addition to the I-805 Murray Ridge Road overcrossing, the I-805 Prospect Street overcrossing, the I-805 southbound Telegraph Canyon Road off-ramp and the State Route 94 Sweetwater Springs overcrossing will be retrofitted.
Motorists are reminded to Be Work Zone Alert and to Move Over a lane when safe to do so, or slow when highway workers are present with amber lights flashing http://beworkzonealert.com/index.html.
