Night Closures on Sanyo Avenue and State Route SR-905
SAN DIEGO – Caltrans announced that crews will close Sanyo Avenue in both directions between Airway Road and Otay Mesa Road, Monday-Thursday, 9 p.m.-5 a.m. to remove formwork as part of Segment One of the State Route 11/Otay Mesa East Port of Entry Project. Pedestrian access will be available with escort.
Northbound Sanyo Avenue traffic will be detoured east on Airway Road, north on Enrico Fermi Drive and west on Otay Mesa Road. Southbound Sanyo Avenue motorists will use the same detour route in the opposite direction.
A 19-hour partial closure is scheduled on westbound State Route 905 (SR-905) from Siempre Viva Road to La Media Road on Tuesday at 9 p.m. through Wednesday at 4 p.m. One lane will remain open.
The westbound SR-905/La Media Road off-ramp will be closed during the same time period. Motorists may use the Britannia Road off-ramp.
All lanes of eastbound SR-905 between La Media and Siempre Viva roads will be closed Wednesday and Thursday, 9 p.m.-5 a.m. The closures are needed to finish installing overhead sign structures.
Travelers on eastbound SR-905 will be detoured onto southbound La Media Road, then eastbound on Siempre Viva Road to the eastbound SR-905 on-ramp.
The SR-11/Otay Mesa East Port of Entry Project will help relieve traffic congestion and shorten wait times at the Otay Mesa and San Ysidro ports of entry. The cost of Segment One is $112 million and is expected to be completed at the end of the year.
