Northbound Interstate 805 Closed Tuesday Night
SAN DIEGO – Motorists are advised that construction crews will close all lanes on northbound Interstate 805 (I-805) from Nobel Drive to Mira Mesa Boulevard Tuesday night beginning at 9:30 and reopening Wednesday morning at 5. The closure will allow crews to pour concrete for the Carroll Canyon Bridge.
Motorists traveling north on I-805 will be redirected to westbound State Route 52 (SR-52) and then to northbound Interstate 5 (I-5). Local traffic will be allowed to exit at Governor Drive and Nobel Drive. Motorists traveling on La Jolla Village Drive/Miramar Road, Nobel Drive, and Governor Drive may take southbound I-805 to westbound SR-52 to northbound I-5. Detour signs will be placed to assist motorists around the closure.
Stage 1 of the I-805 North Express Lanes Project is constructing one carpool lane in each direction in the median of I-805 from just north of SR-52 to just north of Mira Mesa Boulevard. The project also includes construction of a Direct Access Ramp to and from southbound I-805 at Carroll Canyon Road. Additional improvements include bridge widening and ramp modifications. This stage is estimated to cost approximately $86 million and is expected to be completed in summer 2016.
Motorists are urged to slow down during construction. Be work zone alert!
