Night Closures on I-805 in Golden Triangle Monday and Tuesday
SAN DIEGO –– Caltrans reported that northbound Interstate 805 (I-805) will be closed from Nobel Drive to Mira Mesa Boulevard on Monday night at 9:30 until 5 in the morning.
Northbound I-805 motorists will be detoured to westbound State Route 52 (SR-52) and then to northbound Interstate I-5. Local traffic may exit at Governor Drive and Nobel Drive.
Motorists wanting to travel north from La Jolla Village Drive/Miramar Road, Nobel Drive, and Governor Drive may take southbound I-805 to westbound SR-52 to northbound I-5.
Construction crews will close southbound I-805 from the Interstate 5/I-805 merge to La Jolla Village Drive on Tuesday during the same hours.
Southbound I-805 motorists will be detoured to southbound I-5, then eastbound on SR -52 to northbound or southbound I-805.
The closures are required for bridge widening work as part of the I-805 North Express Lanes project.
Stage 1 of the I-805 North Express Lanes Project will construct one carpool lane in each direction in the median of I-805 from SR-52 to Mira Mesa Boulevard. The project also includes construction of a Direct Access Ramp to and from southbound I-805 at Carroll Canyon Road. Additional improvements include bridge widening and ramp modifications.

Motorists are reminded to Be Work Zone Alert and to Move Over a lane when safe to do so, or slow when highway workers are present with amber lights flashing.
