Southbound I-805 Closed Three Nights for Work on Rose Canyon Bridge
SAN DIEGO – Caltrans construction crews will close all lanes on southbound Interstate 805 (I-805) from Mira Mesa Boulevard to Governor Drive for three consecutive nights beginning Tuesday. The closures will take place from 10 p.m. until 5 the following morning to accommodate work to widen the Rose Canyon Bridge.
Motorists will be detoured to southbound Interstate 5 (I-5) at the I-5/I-805 Merge, then eastbound on SR-52 to northbound or southbound I-805. Changeable Message Signs will be placed advising of the upcoming closure. Detour signs will be in place to assist motorists around the closure.
The work is part of Stage 1 of I-805 North Express Lanes Project. The project is constructing one carpool lane in each direction in the median of I-805 from just north of SR-52 to just north of Mira Mesa Boulevard. The project will also construct a Direct Access Ramp to and from southbound I-805 at Carroll Canyon Road. Estimated cost for this stage is $86 million.
