Paving Work to Close Mira Mesa Boulevard at I-805
SAN DIEGO –Caltrans has scheduled paving work Friday night at Mira Mesa Boulevard near Interstate 805 (I-805).
Eastbound and westbound Mira Mesa Boulevard/Vista Sorrento Parkway will be closed under I-805 beginning Friday at 9 p.m. to Saturday at noon. Construction crews will also close the eastbound and westbound Mira Mesa Boulevard/Vista Sorrento Parkway on-ramps to southbound I-805. All motorists will be detoured to Sorrento Valley Boulevard.
This work is in anticipation of the I-805 Carroll Canyon Road Direct Access Ramp that will open in mid-March, once complete commuters on Carroll Canyon Road will be able to directly access the carpool lanes on I-805 at its merge with Interstate 5 (I-5).
Earlier this week Caltrans added two miles of new carpool lanes, one in each direction, from Mira Mesa Boulevard in Sorrento Valley to I-5/I-805 merge.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and safely move over a lane when Caltrans or other emergency vehicles are displaying flashing amber lights. It’s the law!
