East San Ysidro Boulevard On- and Off-ramps to Close for Six Weeks
SAN DIEGO – Construction will continue at the San Ysidro Port of Entry (POE) when crews from the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) close the northbound Interstate 5 (I-5) on- and off-ramps at East San Ysidro Boulevard starting Monday at 9 a.m. to Friday, March 21 at 4 p.m.
This work should not affect motorists crossing into the United States and continuing north on I-5. All other motorists should continue on northbound I-5 to the San Ysidro off-ramp and turn right onto East San Ysidro Boulevard. To access the freeway from city streets near the POE, motorists will be detoured north on East San Ysidro Boulevard to the northbound I-5 San Ysidro Boulevard on-ramp.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and safely move over a lane when Caltrans or other emergency vehicles are displaying flashing amber lights. It’s the law!
