Caltrans Awards Contract for I-805 DAR Project
SAN DIEGO –The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has awarded a $38 million contract to Granite Construction Co. for the construction of the Direct Access Ramp (DAR) at East Palomar Street in Chula Vista. The DAR is a component of the Interstate 805 South Express Lanes Project.
The DAR will connect motorists to the Express Lanes, direct connectors and intermediate access points, as well as in-line transit stations and park and ride locations. Construction is expected to begin in March and is anticipated to be completed by mid-2014.
