Caltrans May Close EB I-8 To SB SR-163 Ramp For Repairs
SAN DIEGO –Motorists heading eastbound on Interstate 8 (I-8) through Mission Valley may be unable to transition to southbound State Route 163 if highway workers need to close a lane in order to make repairs from a waterline break earlier today, according to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans).
Depending on the findings of engineers, the closure of the far right lane may be necessary if repairs are needed. Signs will be posted notifying the motorists of any closures and detour signs will be placed to assists motorists around any closure.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and safely move over a lane when Caltrans or other emergency vehicles are displaying flashing amber lights. It’s the law!
