Closures/Pile Driving This Weekend For Euclid Avenue at Interstate 805
SAN DIEGO – Euclid Avenue at Interstate 805 (I-805) will be closed to motorists in both directions from Friday at 3 a.m. through Sunday at 10 p.m. for work to widen the freeway bridge. The work will include the noisy operation of driving of piles between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. daily, according to Caltrans.
Bicyclists and pedestrians will be routed through the work zone, while motorists will be detoured around the closure.
DETOURS ARE AS FOLLOWS:
Southbound Euclid Avenue Closure at I-805: Drivers who wish to travel south on Euclid Avenue will be detoured west on East 22nd Street, south on Prospect Street, south on Vista Way/Prospect Street, then east on Sweetwater Road to Euclid Avenue.
Northbound Euclid Avenue Closure at I-805: Drivers who wish to travel north on Euclid Avenue will be detoured west on Sweetwater Road, north on Prospect Street/Vista Way, north on Prospect Street, east on East 22nd Street, north on Prospect Street, then east on East 20th Street to northbound Euclid Avenue.
The I-805 South Project includes building one carpool lane in each direction along an eight-mile segment of the freeway from East Palomar Street in Chula Vista to State Route 94 in San Diego. Work is scheduled for completion in fall 2013.
