Encinitas Boulevard On-ramp Closed for Weekend Work
SAN DIEGO – Construction crews will be working on northbound Interstate 5 at Encinitas Boulevard this weekend, according to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans).
Crews will close the Encinitas Boulevard on-ramp for three consecutive days beginning Friday at 9 p.m. The on-ramp will reopen Monday at 5 a.m. The Encinitas Boulevard off-ramp will close between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. for each night beginning Friday until Saturday.
Motorists needing access to northbound I-5 near Encinitas Boulevard will be detoured south on I-5 to the Santa Fe Drive off-ramp then back northbound I-5 from Santa Fe Drive on-ramp. Motorists for the northbound off-ramp to Encinitas Boulevard will be detoured to the Leucadia Boulevard off-ramp then back on southbound I-5 to Encinitas Boulevard.
The work is needed for pavement work as crews complete the rebuilding of the northbound I-5 Encinitas Boulevard on-ramp.
