All Lanes of Northbound I-805 Closed Tonight at Mira Mesa Boulevard
SAN DIEGO – All lanes of northbound Interstate 805 (I-805) will be closed tonight at Mira Mesa Boulevard/Sorrento Valley Road, according to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans). The lanes will close at 10:30 p.m. and reopen Wednesday at 5 a.m.
Motorists will exit using the off-ramp and cross two signalized intersections to the northbound I-805 Mira Mesa Boulevard/Sorrento Valley Road on-ramp. The two traffic signals will be programmed to allow maximum green time for the vehicles exiting the freeway.
Changeable Message Signs will be posted on northbound I-805 south of the State Route 52 (SR-52) interchange with the posted detour to use westbound SR-52 to northbound Interstate 5.
The work is part of the $90.3 million construction project to extend Carroll Canyon Road under I-805 and build an HOV lane in each direction along the freeway to and from Interstate 5 to Carroll Canyon Road. The project is expected to be completed by late 2012 or early 2013.
